I haven't kept up with baseball for very long so I'd have to say no, but maybe you older folks could give some opinions.

I have been loving mariners for a while, I don't believe they are the best ever, but certain the best Mariner Club ever. They're pitching and timely hitting has been points to success. Hopefully this will be the first year they win the world series.

Let me guess, Scrapster, you live in Seattle. They have certainly had a good season so far, but it is only a quarter over. Perhaps if they continue this all season, win the world series and then win 2 or 3 more in this decade, you could try posing the question again.

When you talk about best teams ever you gotta mention the '27 Yankees with Murderers Row. Gehrig, Ruth et al.

One of the signs of the Apocalypse is that the following teams would have the best records in baseball:

Phillies
Cubs
Minnesota
Seattle

think about their preseason prospects!

Yeah, I agreed. Seattle teams having a habit of loosing at the end, the Sonic & the M. Seahawk too suck to count. ;) But I hope the M will win the series this year, just to piss off Griffy & A Rod. :D

It is way premature to start crowning them yet, but any true fan has to be happy with the progress they have made after losing three Hall of Famers in the past three years. Of course, I am even happier about the Twins!

Yes, the Mariners are off to a great start, but the season is only 1/3rd over. And no, they are not the best team ever, they are not even the best team in the last 5 years. The 98 yankees were MUCH better, and imho, they are not even the best team ever (the 27 yankees were).

I think they are a good team and people just under estimated them like the Twins. As for the best team.... i wouldn't count on it.

Nah. The season is young and they will fold. Plus they would have to win the Series in convincing fashion. The 1998 Yankess were simply awesome and they are still not considered the best of all-time.

Come on guys the Mariners? They are having one good season and the season is not even half over! Do not even talk to me until the Mariners have won 26 World Series trophys

The Mariners are not even close to being in the top 100 teams of all time, let alone best.

1.) Yanks of the '20's
2.) Big Red Machine of the 70's
3.) Yanks of the 50's

<< Big Red Machine of the 70's >>

Don't forget the Oakland A's of the 70's. They won 3 consecutive World Series. They had Catfish hunter, Reggie Jackson, Vida Blue, Sal Bando, Joe Rudi, Bert Campaneris, Ray Fosse and Dick Green, Most who went on to play with other Championship teams after Charlie Finely broke them up (the bastard) They also beat the Big Red Machine and a great Dodger team in consecutive series.

Every few years when the Twins have all the stars aligned...they win it all.

The Twins are the best in baseball this year and have the drive to win the World Series like they did in previous years. Even Seatle will falter in the end.

So let it be written...so let it be done.

Are you joking? The Mariners are a mediocre team in the current MLB lineup. A fa cry from the "best MLB team ever".
