Are the people across the street from me getting robbed?

I know this is most bizarre, but in my sleeplessness I'm observing a most pectuliar activity. The house across the street from me has an unfamiliar full size Ford van parked backwards in the driveway, with all the doors open. There are a couple of guys moving around, in and out of the house and garage. They don't seem to be in much of a hurry and they don't seem to be carrying anything in or out of the house. I can hear them talking, but can't really make out what they are saying. They keep triggering the motion light and are using flashlights, so??? Should I have neighborly concern and walk over there? Maybe see if the police can send a patrol car to check it out? Its just quite bizarre....

Question: Would you have wanted your neighbors to just sit and watch while they weren't sure if YOUR house could have been being robbed? Sorry, but I would have called the police.

You should have called the cops or the neighbors if you have their number. If the guys were burgulars, they'd be spooked by the phone because then they'd know that someone is awake.

Calling the police would be a better idea

Your refusal to take any sort of action should be less than comforting to, you know, anyone who knows you and might ever be in trouble.

Thank God I'm not your neighbor or know you....

I can see future posts:

"My mom is choking is this bad? Should I do something?"

"There is a man in a van offering a child candy. Could this be bad?.. I dont know I'll keep watching for my own entertainment"

"I saw a dark skinned fella hide what looked like a bomb at the mall. Would it be good to warn people?"

"My sister fell and blood is shooting out of her. Should I keep watching or try to help?"

a simple call to the police and reporting something suspicious woulda been a decent neighborly tip. if it was a false alarm, you have nothing to worry about because the cops will roll up and check out the scene. The neighbors would never found it was you.

it's good to know that people have the brains to ask for a potential robbery on the internet than calling in something "suspicious".

yay.

Great, and I'm sure if something popped out of our air conditioner you'd have to ask if it was good or bad too?
