Are the new Xbox 360 Elites Jasper?

I just got back from Best Buy, they have a ton of Elites with the new box art, but it's hard to tell looking through the cutout in the box since it appears the sticker is obscured more then before and I don't want to rip the box to see if it's 12,1 compared to the older units.

Can anyone confirm these units are Jaspers or not? I saw a mfg date of July 2009.
 
They could be backstocked Falcons or Dog forbid Zephyrs, you really can't know without looking at the back of the console itself. You can't rely on what the box says.
 
I picked up a new elite today with white box art, Jasper inside. I've read several other confirmations online that the newer boxes all seems to have the same.

As far as the packaging goes, just tear the inside cardboard a little to see the amperage. It's impossible to see it without bending/ripping by about a quarter inch on the new packaging.
 
Yeah, I was at Best Buy today. I checked one of the Elites in the new, white packaging, it was a Jasper. You do have to tear the cardboard just a little bit, but just push it back, no one will know.
 
if you don't feel like poking your finger thorugh the card board, the packaging is pretty indicitive of what you are getting.

Has Indiana Jones/Kung Fu panda = Falcon
Has Fable II/Halo 3 = Falcon
Has older grey packaging = Falcon or Zephyr
White packaging = Jasper
 
I don't see too many bundles anymore at my local Best Buys, I did see a Resident Evil bundle at CompUSA but it was overpriced.

I'm between buying an Arcade or the Elite, just don't know if I need the 120GB drive as I don't plan to do anything else with it other then play some games. Figure I can buy two games for the extra $100 instead.
 
why do you have to tear the cardboard? Are they still manufacturing Falcon/Zephyrs? The xbox I've seen in the stores lately (been looking awaiting this price drop) have manufacturing dates of w/in 3 months. I'd gather I'm safe, no?
 
Well I got the Elite with the new box art, mfg in July. I looked hard and shifted the box to see the current raiting 12,1 so it's got to be a Jasper.
