Are the new DDR Motherboards and Memory worth the price??

Hi, I am going to buy a new system and need to know if the new DDR Motherboards, Memory, Cpu is worth the extra cost compared to the increase of power. or would I be better off going with the PC133 board and memory, but put the money saved into a Video card, like a Geforce2 Ultra?

Some of the reviews i've seen say the small increase isn't worth the cost.

What do you think?
 
from what i've heard, those reviews are right, it's not worth the price at this time but give it a little while and it shoul be just fine. you always pay a premium for new technologies so you shoul wait and let them mature just a little and but when the price is just right for you.
 
Definitely not worth the cost. Not since the KT133A based boards came out. That's the system I'm building now. Check out some reviews here on Anand's. You're getting similar performance for much less of the price AND you can use your PC133 memory in them.
