are the most recent athlons / durons unlocked from factory???

Most of the 1.4 athlons are unlocked, I have seen one issue where the persons 1.4 was locked, I don't know why because everyone elses has been unlocked. Can't say on the durons, probly the same.

My 1.2 GHz tbird came unlocked... Good move by AMD if you ask me...

I built a system for someone 3 weeks ago using a 1.3GHz T-Bird (200MHz FS) and upgraded my own system last weekend with a 1.33GHz T-Bird (266MHz FSB). I ordered the former from newegg and hand-picked the latter at a computer show. Both came unlocked.

Most but not all 1.2GHz+ Athlon come factory unlocked. Athlon's under 1-1.2GHz are generally split between locked and unlocked, with unlocked becoming more frequent of late.

Regarding Duron's the majority of them are still locked, but there are a decently large number that are factory unlocked.
