Are the Denver Broncos INSANE?

Jake's biggest problem is he gets "tunnel vision" and locks onto his primary reciever. Often he will force a pass into double coverage with a second or third option open down field. That's why he throws so many picks.

Completely agree with you. like i said, he lacks the patience and intelligence to play at the NFL starting QB level.

Don't thank god too much cuz since the Bears didn't sign Plummer they will probably get Griese. Although I don't think the problem in Denver was Griese, he is just an easy target because he doesn't like to talk to the media. You don't lose 5 games by 3 or less points because of the QB when your offense scores 21 points. Elam, the Defense, Poor Clock Management, and a bit of over confidence cost the Bronco's a playoff spot this season.

They just signed Jake Plummer to a 7 year, 40 million dollar contract with a 13 million signing bonus.

Well, c'mon. They kept Griese for 4 years.

I'm a Broncos fan, but c'mon....
I always thought that the Broncos screwed Brister when they gave the nod to Griese instead of him 4 years ago. Given his performance when filling in during Elway's last season, Brister more than earned a shot at starter and the Broncos could have easily, and should have, kept Griese in the wings for another year.

I'm a Broncos fan and I'm kind of glad. Griese was doing well but then he went into a slump. His second year he had only 4 or 5 INTs and last year he had like a 50/50 TD/INT ratio. Plummer will do good with Denver because he needs a good line and that's what Denver has.

I go to a lot of Cardinal games, and I can tell you - he has put a few Offensive Coordinators out of business.

He was only allowed to read 1/2 the field, locked in on one receiver and telegraphed his passes.

He is an interception MACHINE. Shanahan will be pulling his hair out very soon.

Good luck, Plummer's interception ratio is more 3:4. Something like 90 career TDs and 120+ career INTs. Only thrown more TD than INT's once in his career.

Alot of those mistakes that Jake had were due to a porous o-line. The Cards have never been able to mount much of a threat. I blame the coaching staff some, but blame Mr. Bidwell even more. Is Jake an outstanding QB? Probably not, but as we saw in the Superbowl, the QB doesn't have to be great to be good. The Broncos have a good nucleus of supporting players; something that has never been said about the Cards.

Truthfully, I hope Jake is not everything the broncos hoped. I'm a diehard Bolt fan and feel the Chargers got the better end of the "desert duo" in David Boston.

Ya but now the Bears are going to trade for Griese or get Kordell......Not a great situation either way IMO....

Cool the Steelers could use a good back-up.

No one is going to trade for Griese. The Broncos would take a 9 million dollar cap hit if he was released or traded. The only thing that would make them agree to that would be a high first round pick which no one is going to give them for a QB that already has a ticket out of town in June. So a trade would be nearly impossible.

I think the Bears will go after Kordell, if they don't get him wait for Griese. Take a young QB in the 2nd round of the draft and let him develop behind the vet for 2 years.

That's what we thought in 99 and 00 - he never had a chance. But in the last 2 years, the Cardinals spent a lot of money on building the O-line to a respectable one. Nope - even with protection he still sucks.
