They used to be fried (and were awesome!)
They are now baked (and not as good)

The new apple pies are advertised as fried, not baked.

I'm talking about MCD's in the UK or are they all the same worldwide? I mean I know everything in the US are fried... even the milkshakes are fried. That won't surprise me at all.

For some reason, I think it's the opposite here in the valley which wouldn't make any sense. I swear they're baked here now, and used to be fried.

The baked ones go well with ice cream.

The fried ones went well with a burnt palate.

I am glad the fried one are gone, they sucked; in taste and in not being something that would bring you physical harm.

The fried ones are gone? Are you sure? Just when I created this thread I went to MCD and ask the guy who served me and he said the apple pie was fried. UK btw. Just wondering cuz I want one that is baked. :'(

Still have the baked ones here and they used to be fried long ago. I almost never order them because they are very bad for you even when baked, but I get to try them every now and then when they mess up my order and throw it in to compensate. I got to try one last night and it was great. I can't possibly imagine that it would be better when deep fried like those chemical-tasting preservative-filled "Donut Sticks" they sell on the Little Debbie/Hostess racks (Ichinisan, I'm looking at you). Only $0.50 in my area right now for a hot, crusty, baked, and fresh personal-sized apple pie at McD's, so I honestly hope no one is buying those horrible Donut Sticks.
