No not really. They can replace them for some people but there's still a lot you can do on a netbook that you can't do on a tablet.

I assumed he meant that it was the device that people are starting to replace their laptops with for serious portability. Not comparing specs.

I replaced my laptop with a phone.

I'm still waiting for a tablet to offer something my phone doesn't besides a bigger screen, higher price and less portability.

I dislike the interface more than anything. And IIRC it's not a widescreen display which is pretty shitty because it has a beautiful screen.

And, no I'm not some Apple hater.

Bizzare, the interface is what sold it to me, but to each his own...

this. i opted for a netbook over a tablet. i use it often enough for it to be worth it. my smartphone acts as my tablet, more or less

kinda wish i got in on the nook @ $200 the other day, but i didnt need to spend the money.

PC's and laptops are actually on their way out, tablet/smart phone combos are going to take their place. Everyone is going to eventually carry one around like a wallet that carries their "Internet presence". They'll connect wirelessly to larger screens at workstations and to TV's when needed.

Yes. I'd rather use my laptop over a netbook if I needed to do anything productive. And I'd rather have a tablet over a netbook for casual stuff.
