Got damn. That is one long arm. Never seen one like that before... US$ 150. No wonder, cheap bastards at work.

I've used an electric stapler mounted on a copier before. That thing scared the shit out of me. It went through at least a dozen pages but it'd make a big indent on the front due to the force.

You can always just order pre-punched paper...

I actually staple a LOT. The Swinglines I have are fine for up to 10 pages. Once you go to 15+ pages, they turn into jam-o-matics. The spring-powered ones will eventually wear out (around 25,000 staples from my observations), but it's well worth all the time not having to dig out jammed or failed staples.
Swingline makes about a bazillion different models. The cheap ones aren't very good, but their higher end models are good. However, in terms of bang for the buck, other brands are often better values, since you're not paying for the name.

Seriously, this is why they make assistants. So we don't have to argue about this shit.
The assistants still have to have good staplers. And who says some of these assistants aren't in this thread? ;)

Had a spring-powered stapler on my food truck while it was open for a couple years. Looked like this but different colors and brand:

shopping

Worked like a charm and that thing was abused - tossed about and thrown about nilly willy. Stapled through a gajillion triple folded over heavy paper bags for every order that went out. Brought it with me over to real estate. Never tried it with 20-30 pages, but it worked like a charm on like 15 page contracts. Finally broke after a few years of that. I didn't break it, it was returned to my desk broken. Heathens! Cost like 15 bucks. I'm sure you could get a higher-end version.

got this one on my desk, its the upgrade from that one. it is the best one i have ever used.

I kinda want a red Swingline just because of the movie. But it's one of those things I won't bother buying unless I happen to think about it while ordering other stuff. I do have a Bates 550 though, that thing is a tank. It's made of mostly metal.

Bates? They made a damn good computer back in the day.

I has a Bates Model 550C. It's soul-crushing beige though - so no match for a Swingline. =P

I tried some of their higher end staplers and I see that Swingline now has spring loaded staplers as well. For bang for the buck, it's hard to beat Paperpro and MAX (I really like their "flat" staplers. So much nicer than the regular curved staples.)

Dude, its a stapler. It staples things. Thats its only job. If it doesnt do that well, it has no right to exist.

Just looked up my model number. Someone on ebay said it was vintage. LOL. Just because it lasts forever doesn't mean it's vintage.

*shudders* One on the left is easier to get out but I see it getting snagged on things... like my skin.
