EDIT: Also take into account rate of absorbtion. Do you really want to take 2 pills that might effect your system twice as much for half as long?

That, and there is probably a reason the capsules cost more then the regular big round pills.
That depends what pill it is!

For something like a vitamin or supplement, I don't think there would be any harm to cutting it in half with a razor blade if it really that much of a problem for you to get down. Hell, I'll crush up ones that say to not. ;)

I don't have trouble swallowing any pills, although I'm not sure why someone would want to do it without something to drink.

Practice on a banana first, then you won't have any problems.

My ex-wife had this issue, but after lots of practice she was able to take them of all sizes and shapes.

I'm thinking my tonsils are to blame for my sake. My throat sometimes feels swollen.

No insurance, so can't get it checked. *shrug*

I just avoid large pills.

I've swallowed an entire Animal Pak of vitamins in two gulps before just to see if I could do it. I wouldn't suggest anyone try that.

When i was about 6 *i think* I tried to swallow one of those big vitamin c pills. It got stuck and i started to chok and couldnt breathe. Thankfully my dad was near me and gave me the heimlich maneuver. It took me 6 years before i got over my phobia of pills. I still have a hard time but i can take them.

I bought them just to practice swallowing pills. I figured 500mg would be a comfortable size, but apparently it's not.

I'll have to find a 400mg supplement this week.

I can't swalow pills either, but when I'm eating a prime rib, I'll swallow fist-sized bolus.

Funny how that works.

Yeah, I don't understand this, I've never had problems, at times I've had to take 5+ pills and I just stuck them all in my mouth and swallowed them, no big deal.
