I think the GOP is as honest as its ever been. They come right out and say the things they only used to hint at. Trump has been a big factor in this, he's freed them up to unleash their inner asshole.

Sadly half the country thinks this is a good thing, but all i can do is vote and excise them from my own life.

I think you're going to see high turnout from the dems for the foreseeable future, at least until democrat voters feel secure that the threat to democracy from the far right is over. Polling says about 80% of registered democrats believe our democracy is at risk. This went way up after 1/6.

What happened in 2020 is likely the new norm.

Probably going to see high turnout all-round (seems like many Republican voters are as eager to bring about the end of democracy as Democrats are to save it). I'm not convinced that high turnout will necessarily be sufficient though, not when the electoral system is so vulnerable and badly flawed.

Let's not forget that last year the Biden administration also revamped some of the rules around PSLF, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, making it much easier for MANY borrowers to be eligible and obtain relief from the program. So from a student debt standpoint, they have done quite a bit.

And I know everyone is wanting to dunk on the GOP regarding PPP, but it's really apples and oranges here - those PPP loans had forgiveness baked into them as long as certain criteria were met.

Again, I think Biden has done well on this front (and a campaign promise), but the PPP loans don't compare. Makes for nice Twitter optics, I guess.
