The smartest person I've ever known was Herman Kahn, the founder of the Hudson Institute think tank and often mentioned as the smartest person in the world. He was also really fat.

(his daughter was in film school with my husband, which is why I knew him. He loved hanging out with us "young folks" and knew just as much about pop music and current events as he did about - well, whatever really smart people know a lot about)

Other than legitmate psychological and/or weight-related disorders, I'd have to admit that my opinion is that anyone who doesn't have the drive or will to take care of their bodies is pretty stupid. Sorry.

All fat people are stupid. The very fact that they cannot control their own weight is evidence enough to show that they are genetic failures. It's evolution, you see. Genetically fatties are predisposed to being stupid, worthless sacks of shit. They consume vast quantities of resources, and contribute little to society. Normally, the stupid are placed in manual labor jobs which require little thinking, but fatties are incapable of such tasks due to their poor physical conditioning. So what is there to do with fatties? The answer is simple, but some people find the idea of genetic cleansing to be distasteful. It is, however, the only possible solution. We either eliminate fat, stupid people from our gene pool, or we risk ruining all that evolution has given us. Everyone knows this.

I don't think so. Smart people read and study a lot which are sedentary activity which leads to weight gain. Most nerds I saw in engineering college were fatter while business and fine arts slimer. (small sample size) All females in the hard stuff were fatties.

Two of my buddies come to mind: one is skinny and the other obese, both are mentally brilliant and at least 150+ IQ. All in all, you could probably generalize that fatter people are more sedentary (fat friend likes to play video games/read while skinny guy is a gearhead engineer) but weight isn't a factor when it comes to brilliance.

If someone can't even establish a proper diet and figure out how to properly nourish themselves, what makes you think they can be smart in any other particular area? :awe:

Which makes the more believable character? A dumb-as-rocks athlete or the smart fat guy?

not really any doubt in my mind. i'd imagine the mildly overweight have similar intelligence to those that are a healthy weight... but i guarantee the obese have less intelligence
