I want one for a dress watch. My dad won't give me his Automatic Omega so i'll have to settle for this :). Anyone out there have these? Are they any good?

Kinetics are great. My Gf got me one for my B-day 2 years ago and it keeps perfect time. Very stylish too. I loved it so much I got her the matching ladies one for her last Valentine's day.

seiko kinetics are great..good value for the money.

In my own opinion though, depending on your budget your would either be better off looking at a seiko automatic diver (200 @ ashford after coupons) or an Invicta Automatic Diver (79 bucks) the invicta has a slight annoyance though, the second hand will stop for a second when the watch is shaken however it does not affect time keeping.

I myself am looking at an automatic omega (very nice but quite expensive, the "bond" model seamaster) Currently I have an Invicta Speedmaster (my beater chronograph paid 80 for it nice watch though, excellent bracelet), a tag heuer 1500 Two tone quartz (Nice dress watch, on a bracelet though some consider that dressy, I myself like bracelets over straps), and am going to get another Invicta Pro diver (had one before and loved it but exchanged it for the good deal on the speedmaster at the time). I was looking at a Rolex, Revue thommen, and many others but I realised that one can only wear so many watches and only has so much to spend so my next watch, besides the invicta will be one that I plan on keeping for a while, which is why I am seriously considering Omega, stylish, functional and a reasonable price (relatively speaking)

if you have any questions about watches please feel free to meail me I will be happy to help in anyway possible, also if you can post what your budget for a watch, what type your looking for (dress, dress divers, sport) since almost any nice wach can be classified as "Dress" it is hard to determine what one's taste is (smaller face, gold accents or all stainless)that would help alot

actually comming from an owner,

Tag suffers from the same problem that Rolex does.

Marketing Hype

While tag heuers are excellent watches quality wise, their style is less than original (somewhat rolex esque on their 2000 series, however the SEL and oters are quite different)

They are Overpriced (yet you can find excellent deals via internet however by doing such you void your "official warranty") and you dont get that much of a nice watch.

The only reason I got my tag was that I liked the style and I got it for almost 50% off of retail (460 shipped vs 800 at a jeweler)

If I had to have the Tag warranty I would never buy a tag, there are many better brands for less or equivalent money

Omega
Oris
Revue Thommen

to name a few.

Watches effected by marketing Hype

Rolex
Tag Heuer (much better when were just heuer)
Rado
Movado (Vintage were worlds better than new)
Baume et Mercier
Gucci
And in some cases Cartier

but then again this is just my opinion :)

If you want a good dress watch pickup a fake! It would take a jeweler to tell the difference between my fake gold Rolex and a real one :p

Ahh the fake issue.

I have seen many fakes

Movado's, Tag's, Rolexes and such

Unless you get a real high quality fake (150+) than anyone that knows anything about watches will be able to spot it in a second. I have picked out fake rolexes from up to ten feet away (they were really bad)

If you want something that looks exactly like a rolex submariner (one of their most popular models) and you want a "real" watch with a warranty then I would once again suggest the Invicta Sport Diver Automatic Model 8926. It is the exact "copy" of a sub, has an automatic movement like the rolex (alltough the movement is japanese) it has a sold stainless case and bracelet (which is excellent) the only things that give it away are the display back, invicta signing on the side and crown and on the dial.

Another bonus is that it has areal working screw down crown and is water resistant to 200m.

After coupons it is 67 shipped second day air

as I said before though the second hand stops when shaken and when it is first removed from the packing there is some black paint on the dial from the box it is shipped in however that is easily removed with water.

here is a great review of the Invicta, however the buckle and the display back have changed, the buckle looks much better and the display back is no longer signed

Here is another great watch for the money and they only sell via internet
