Enhance is one of the best (if the not the best) values out there right now. I'd recommend the enhance 5150gh. It is 500w, has 18amps on both 12v rails, for 28 combined. It also has 80% efficiancy and great build quality.

Enhance must have improved fairly recently, because I've had more than a few go out on me at work. I had to just trash `em. They are mATX PSUs that are a few years old, however, so maybe the newer Enhance PSUs are of better quality.

Are Seasonic's overrated?

In some ways yes, they are very good PSUs,but so are Enermax,Fortron,PC Power Cooling,Tagan and few others I could meantion, shame people don't look at other PSUs (like those above)and they seem just to go with what's popular in AT forums, older members here will remember Antec getting recommended as one of the most popular few years back,Seasonic then was hardly ever meantioned.

I won't be recommending Antec PSUs if at all possible.

Times change and quality changes too.

I was recommending Northwood P4 C's back in 2003 when they outperformed Athlon XPs by a wide margin. After the P4 lous-E was introduced and A64 motherboards got past their initial problems I've been been recommending A64s. When Conroe is shipping and if it lives up to the leaked benchmarks I'll probably be recommending intel again.

That is true but there will always be a lot more then one good PSU brand, bottomline don't restrict yourself to one brand when you have plenty of quality brand/models to choose from.

Talking about performance now,not quite the same thing as quality.

yeah, yeah, cuz you read it on an internet forum. That must make it so.

Me and my buddies all bought systems with seasonics in them and more than half DIED. Its gotta be true.

All I was asking for was which of these 10 antecs, over half of which died, were true's,, true 2s etc. Just add some legitmacy to what hes saying.

I love bandwagon jumping :) Remember how people loved and then crucified Ultras within 6 months :p

My analysis (which is always, right, so don't even try to argue!)

Seasonics are just as reliable as any premium PSU. If you have valuable parts, it makes sense to pay a premium for a better powersupply. I have an Asus SLI-Premium and I use a S12-600 now. When I was using a $70 K7S5A, I used the cheap antec that came in my case (the antec burnt out a few years later but by then that hardware was worthless).

However, if you are concerned with silence, the S12 is worth every penny. If you're going to have a system with loud fans, then you might as well get a different reliable one that costs less.

With today's forums you never know whether you are reading anecdotes or marketing.

I don't have one of the newer S series from Seasonic. I've got one of the older ones that is a "Super Silencer" in the 460 watt variety. The thing is dead silent and stable as heck even being 5A short of the recommended 30A for 12v rail for the 1900XT's.

Also I don't think they are overated as IMO they cost the same as any of the other highier quality PSU's out there.

I'll be recommending the new S12s to my friend when he builds his system soon. I love my S-12, and the stability is amazing. Fortron doesnt even come close in terms of voltage regulation

Nah. They're not cheap, but they deliver. Their component quality has gone up in the past year, too, so they're now some of the best PSUs for efficiency, silence, and reliability.

I didn't bother with one, went WD and have had no problems. Have always heard good things about both seasonic and WD

I think you should atleast read the original post that started this thread, before posting
yourself.

Seagate...not Seasonic
