Are SATA and SATA II cables the same?

Newegg has a lot of OEM hard drives, and i was looking at the 3Gb/s (SataII) ones. However, the OEM ones don't come with a Sata cable for the hard drive. I see many Sata 150 cables at newegg, but not any that say 3Gb/s. Are the 150 cables interchangeable with 3GB/s or are they different?

Thanks. A direct link to the needed cable would be great. 🙂

The cables are the same. However, both your HD AND you motherboard have to be rated at the 3.0GB/s rating in order to take advantage of the additional performance.

That 3GB/s is theoretical, though. Same thing as the ATA100 and ATA133 specs; we never got near 100MB/s transfer rate from a single IDE drive, let alone 133.

You'll be fine w/whatever SATA cable you use.
