are S939 x2's still in production?

If the stores go out of stock this week, before I get an x2 am I screwed? or is AMD still manufacturing 939's along with the am2's.

basically, when do I have to buy by?

I don't remember seeing anything about the 3800+ single core cpu for s939 getting the boot? Its still listed on AMD's price list for $112. Did I miss something?

Venice and Orleans core are dropping in price as well.

112US is much lower then the projected 142 prior, and the original 290US before this craziness started.

You're right. I missed it - it's in the right hand column at $112 as you say. Phew. I was just about to rush out and buy one.

I guess AMD was making a killing off every processor they sold before this if they can drop the prices so much and stillnot lose money on each proc

It's a matter of utilizing capacity and minimizing losses. They well may be selling each CPU at a loss, but thats a hell of a lot better than selling no CPU's at all. They can't just let the FAB's sit idle and send the workers home
