Are RGB and YUV 4:2:2 compatible?

Are RGB and YUV 4:2:2 compatible? (ie. can something that's supposed to have a YUV input accept an RGB signal?)

No. They can be converted, but ultimately they're two entirely different methods of transmitting a picture.
