are ps3 component cables compatible with ps2?

I want to hook my ps2 up component style because I can. I mean really, why go with inferior cables if I don't have to?

Where can I get them though? Will a cable branded for PS3 work with a PS2? I was able to use the PS2 A/V cable with my PS3 during that dark week when my HDTV was dead because the bulb died.

The Sony brand one works with both consoles. Check out a gamestop or best buy and have a look at their accessories.

BTW Component Cables for the PS2 / PS3 are dirt cheap on Ebay. When I got mine on Ebay I got it for $5 and it was gold plated too.

hmm, wonder if ps2 component cables works for ps3.... at anyrate, i got a cheap hdmi from monoprice already, so i wouldn't know.

The PS1, PS2, and PS3 all use the same cables - well, excepting component on the PS1.
