Are PNY video cards manufactured by MSI?

I just picked up a PNY ti4400 and both Sisoft Sandra and Powerstrip list it as an MSI.
Maybe this is common knowledge, but its news to me.

I wonder why MSI doesn't have their GeForce 4 Ti's out yet then? Maybe they are planning a better design instead of reference.

Should a PNY and a MSI 4400 board be the exact same then except for retail packaging? So if results for the PNY are consitant, should we see those on MSI cards? Reason I ask is because the MSI card is roughly $40 less than the retail price for the other 4400 cards. If it performs as well as the PNY it looks mighty tasty, although I'm not a huge MSI fan. Usually a little early to market.

First off, a 4400 is a 4400. All cards from all companys will perform within a few percent of eachother. If MSI makes a board for someone else, then that board will be *exactly* what MSI offers as their own product. PNY most likely just slaps there bios signing on the card and throws it in the box. MSI charge's PNY more than it costs them to make the actual card, so obviously PNY is going to have to be a bit more expensive to make proper profit. Just because it cost a little more dosent mean it's better.

Actually at mwave the PNY is cheaper. 156 vs 169 for a TI200

Must be PNY dumping the rest of their stock or something

PNY also slaps on a lifetime warranty.

Just like Elsa did with Visiontek cards.

If game bundles matter to you at all, then you should go with the MSI. It has like a 10 game package, with 3 full versions(No One Lives Forever, Aquanox, Sacrifice).

Yeah I figured it was like Whirlpool/Kenmore. Come off the same assembly line and they put a Whirlpool sticker on one and a Kenmore on the other and both are identical. I did note that the MSI card is rated for 285 core out of the box.

Main concern was that if folks are hitting 330 core/660 memory consitently with the PNY should the MSI theoretically be able to do the same.

BrunoPuntzJones-
I think every manufacturer is using the same core's and memory.
I have yet to hear anybody having different memory on the boards.

It seems like everyone can o/c the cores to about the same.
Some with 4600's can only get to 310, some to 330.
Same with the 4400's.

Usually everything is the same, but as some of us found out VT used different speed memory chips for the Ti200's 🙁 Mine only does 440 while some folks have no problems with 520+. I'll probably be getting the PNY card in a few days. I don't need the games with the MSI and found the PNY one for $10 more, plus it has the glasses 😎
Hopefully I'll get a GF 4 Ti4750 for the same price as a 4400 😛

Over in hot deals folks reported the Gainward as being 3.6ns chips also, which put it at the same as the PNY iirc. May wait to see Gainward results before I take the jump. Thanks for the responses and I'll cross my fingers that I can hit those fancy numbers.
