Are pleated pants ever considered ok to wear?

Is there a situation that deems pleated pants apropriate? I still have 2 or 3 pairs hanging in the closet, I'm wondering if I should donate them or keep them. If I keep them, what function/event would be appropriate to wear them at?

I wear them all the time to work. I don't notice if other people wear them or not, and I don't care if they notice what I wear.

I wear them all the time to work. I don't really notice the pleats, nor do I go looking at people's midsection/torso for pleats.

EDIT: Pleated pants are usually on clearance too. I'll take a fasion disaster to save 60%.

I wear them to work all the time the pleats only go down like 1.5 inches and they don't make me look fat

I own several pairs, but they were all gifts. I wear them because I don't care what I wear to work.

At the risk of sounding metrosexual, I know why they suck though...the pleats make your waist look wide and make you look frumpy.

I have several pairs of carpanter pants whose straight cut legs and slightly tight waist make my waist look narrow...I'd be lying if I didn't look at myself in the mirror in them and think "Damn, these pants make my ass look good."
