Inspired by another thread... it seems like people around are getting more sensitive than ever.

What do you think?

I've just noticed some people are like 3rd grade tattle tales if someone says the slightest thing wrong. Why not let the mods figure it out for themselves?

Edit: or at least PM the mods instead of creating a thread about it.

in general yes. Especially when it comes to radio and tv. If you are offended by something. Turn it off. Sell your tv. Get a library card. Read a book! Jump off a cliff!!! DIAF!!! JUST QUIT YOUR BITCHING!

That doesn't seem to be the attitude around here though.

I think people aren't more sensitive, it's just that they're allowed to show it more these days

Yeah. "Tolerance" is getting rediculous. I spend more time than I want to making sure I'm not offending anybody at work. That 20 seconds per day is killing me!

People are insensitive when it comes to criticizing others, but sensitive when they themselves are criticized. So in the end it all balances out.

I agree with that... It's due to the conversations taking place over the Internet instead of face to face. People can be pricks and talk sh!t all they want here.

you think people should be able to spout off bigotry unchecked? glad most people don't agree with you.

there's a difference in criticizing a person because of their actions or personality and condemning them because of race or sexuality.

For a chuckle, I regularly check the Forum Issues forum.

As you move beyond your small circle of family and friends you find that people have had different experiences and interpret things differently.

Just because something does not offend you does not preclude that someone else will be offended by it.
