Are people really THAT intrigued by high-speed police chases?

NFS4

No Lifer
Again, Headline News is devoting non-stop coverage to some jackass kidnapper in a Chevy Blazer in CA while commentators and former police officers spill verbal diarhea about the puruit.

Do you people really like this stuff?

People only watch for the crash at the end. Or to watch the person get dragged out of the vehicle and get his ass beat by the cops.

QFT

now waits for another 'What does QFT mean' thread...🙁

I dont really understand wtf those people are thinking. With the helicopters and 12 cars chasing, they're probably not getting away...

You expected what? People watch regurgitated 'reality' shows like Survivor, for crying out loud. Why wouldn't they watch the equivalent of a live train wreck?

"it looks like he's turning into a dirt road"

no you moron he IS going over a dirt road. It doesn't look like it, he is

I was addicted to them. I've seen The World's Wildest Police Chases countless times. I haven't seen one in awhile but I still love watching pursuits. You know it's going to end in a spectacular crash, the guy surrounded and yanked out of the vehicle by very angry police or the suspect tackled and 'cuffed. Great stuff!

Well, there was that one guy who pulled into the Beverly Center (mall) parking garage. All of a sudden, when they realized the guy was going to get away, all the Fox News commentators were just at a loss for words, so it was funny as hell.

I watch none of those shows yet I like watching pursuits.

I like watching high-speed police pursuits. I love the part where the guy running away gets caught. Hehehe

The only time when I hate these pursuits are when they cut in the middle of my soap opera just to let us view it. Soap opera > high speed pursuit.

you think innocent people whose cars get wrecked and pedstrians who nearly get mowed down for walking along a street is 'great stuff'???

while I agree that these chases are a necessary evil (and totally despise those @sshats that would rather let the criminals get away than risk a high speed pursuit), I would hardly say that is 'great' stuff...

maybe i'm being too sensitive, but its gotta suck insurance wise for people who are driving along and then get smacked by some idiot running from the cops...

it sucks that the cops can't just beat the sh!t of 'em when they catch them though...that might make it worth watching...

/end of rant.

Same here. I'm just pointing out that there's nothing new under the sun.

Now, if only I could get a collection of 'wildest police chases' where the bad guys get away...
That'd be a lot more entertaining 🙂
