Are Panasonic cordless phones still considered one of the best?

For some reason, my Motorolla house expandable system dosent play nice with vonage.... Phones don't start ringing until the other side rings 4-5 times, sometimes never at all. Tried a cheap phone and it worked fine, rang right away... So i'm looking at new expandable systems....

Are Panasonic's still considered to be of excellent quality?

Not if you ask my roommate. His cordless Panasonic was a POS. He got so pissed at it one day that he launched it acrossed the room and it snapped the antenna off and shattered the phone. I was all for it because everytime we received a call it would kill our wireless connection for the Internet.

The old school pre-Panasonic 900MHz cordless phones were rock solid.

I'm not sure how they are lately. I'd also look at newer AT&T and Uniden cordless phones.

I remember one generation of their 2.4ghz phones were complete and utter shiet. I know this because I owned two of them

I have used uniden for almost 2 years now and I switched to virgin mobile phones that they sell at target. They were about the same.

Likewise, I gave up on Panasonic a long time ago. I'm scared to try them again.

The wife and I have only used Uniden phones for about 7 years. They've always been great.

Do the uniden one's still have issues with multiple extentions being picked up at the same time?

I know my friend Brian got a uniden expandable system once, but if one extention was picked up, none of the others could be used...

Of the 4 panasonic cordless phones we have two of them died just out of warranty. Those were the two most expensive ones. We had a Sony at one point and that died soon after the warranty ended. Now we have a Uniden and so far it's okay. It has one strange problem where the handset gets stuck on the default screen and you have to remove/re-add the battery to unstick it.

LOL!!! Of course it will. 2.4 ghz phone is on the same frequency as a 2.4 ghz wireless lan.

Apparently changing the channel of your wireless router was just way too much trouble eh?

Well aside from the batteries in two of them. Switched to longer lasting ones. I have the KGX-5110 system (x4 handsets). Love it.

our 900mhz panasonic lasted forever. ok, not forever, but a damn long time before it broke. and it probably broke because it was dropped so many times. another one my dad had.... battery kept dying out. next one we have, same battery issue. So i dunno what to think of them now... and to top that off.. most of their phones (and everyone elses) look like crap.

last forever ... the new 5.8 ones have really good range ... cant compare to others - since we have been using panasonics forever - they look good than 90% of other phones out there too ...

older panasonic phones were made in japan and of higher quality. newer ones are now made in malaysia and not as good.

our 5.8 ghz 2-line panasonic phones are the best cordless ones we've ever had. excellent range and batteries last forever. we were so happy with them, we bought 3. have been using them for 6 months now and have convinced several friends to buy them, too.
