are outlook/outlook express settings saved anywhere

i've got the saved messages... but I need the persons old smtp and mail servers... I've got every bit of data backed up, but the original drive is formatted

yeah i know; but the problem is that pc is already formatted... so I have the data... but not the 'bootable drive'

that applies to outlook express,.... how about outlook? I don't see anything on MS site about it.. but my search skills may be broken

Outlook settings are stored in the registry. I don't have the exact key with me though but have it at work.
