MSNBC has no straight up news programs. It's all op/ed, so this is no surprise.

News networks are owned by corporations.

Corporations are generally owned and controlled by rich people.

Rich people tend to want money (profit) and/or control (of your opinion, of the market, their industry, and the political process).

Do you see where this is heading?

News networks have abso-fucking-lutely nothing to do with reporting the news. If news networks report the news, it's only incidental and not their primary goal. The primary goal of news networks is to (1) control your opinion and (2) keep their owners filthy fucking rich. Period and end of story.

Who, then, should own news companies? the poor?

Doesnt the middle class and the poor want control as well, but just dont have the means to get it as easily?

And who the fuck DOESNT want to increase their wealth? You say these things like all those traits, that everyone has, are reprehensible.

Whoa there, Skippy. All I did was state a set of facts. Anything extra you read into what I said is on you and your own biases.

I see an awful lot of anti-Israel sentiment in these replies. I remember being told be some people disagreeing with Israel means you are anti-Israel.

the editors of each newsroom decides what is news. don't like it, don't buy their paper or watch their news.

yeah, so you mean the peace prize for not pulling out of Iraq or Afghanistan, or not closing Gitmo, etc, etc. don't get me started...

90% of what is on cable news is not news but editorial opinion.

Well I apologize then. Its just when you use words like "rich" you pretty much leave out everyone else, even if the statement DOES apply to everyone, thus indirectly saying that quality is reserved only for them.

Get it?

Honestly? No, I'm not following you, but it doesn't seem like that important of a point to quibble over. If poor people bought up the corporate media and used it to control the minds and opinions of the rest of the population and manipulate them into supporting wars for profit and empire, I'd say the exact same thing about them.
