Studies show that 85% of all disease is rooted in our emotions.

While it is well known that one's emotional state has a profound effect on health, I am skeptical that 85% of all disease is caused by negative emotional states.

I will appreciate if somebody can provide me with adequate, peer-reviewed proof to convince me that the vast majority of diseases are psychosomatic in origin. I do not challenge the existence of psychosomatic illnesses - their existence is well documented. While I'm not a medical doctor and I have no counter proof, my experience and reason tell me that this assertion is false.

I can believe that negative emotions can effect health, and make us more susceptible to illness. But saying they cause 85% of all diseases seems like a bit of a stretch.

So emotionally if I'm always not depressed/not happy, more like "whatever", my health will just be "whatever"?

No. 85% of diseases are not psychosomatic. There are certain conditions, but nowhere near 85% of diseases are a result of the mind.

BTW, link is dead or gone?

Thanks for all the feedback. I think a portion of sickness comes from a emotions but not some much as 85%. I was just flabberghasted to read such a thing, I didn't thing it could be accurate.

I don't know why you would take it seriously at all in the first place. A quick glance around the site makes it pretty obvious that the guy is just a quack motivational speaker (or blogger).

First sign that his info is bogus: there's no link to any such research. If you're making a bold claim, you need some peer-reviewed research to back it up. It's just someone's opinions - another way to make money off of people.
