Are moderators above us all in flaming?

Is it really necessary for a moderator to tell me, "don't bother responding [to this warning PM], you STUPID, annoying little twerp" because I posted a thread asking for a free CD-Key?

1) No flaming or personally attacking members.

thread (the moderator who PMed me was not the moderator who locked my thread - I sent a PM to Anandtech Moderator to clear up a few questions and got an answer from this other moderator)

It doesn't mention anything about asking for a free cd-key in FS/FT or in the general anandtech-posting guidelines. He/she also claimed that I was also "begging" and "whining," but I thought posted very politely in a thread asking for a cd key without whining and begging on my knees to people

Now, I have learned that asking for even a free CD-key is not allowed (thank you for that, _________). I will not commit this offense again, but I still do not believe that my request for one warranted a personal attack from this moderator

I am not asking for my thread to be reinstated or anything of that sort. I just posted up some background information so that I could get a response to my thread-title question.

The moderator who locked your thread simply responded "you should know better." How could you have NOT understood that.

We are volunteers. Please don't waste our time. When you whined to the mod account about, golly, WHY couldn't you openly beg for someone else's cd key in OT I lwas forced to take my personal time and liste 3 or 4 reasons beyond obvious reasons why not, after which, yes, you had gotten on my last nerve and I admonished you NOT to prolong your Beyond the Valley of the Dumb stupidity because, YES, you have proven yourself to be a stupid and annoying twerp.

And your response is to bring it here? Cease and desist now. E-mail Derek Wilson with any further concerns.
