Are Models, Radio Control, and other hobbies a dying trend?

Just reading another site that was dedicated to Radio controlled cars (something I was into at one time) and it got me to thinking about hobbies in general, specifically building hobbies like model car kits, rockets, planes and RC hobbies and how I never see any hobby stores out and about, never see any kids playing with models out and about, never see anyone at the local park launching a model rocket...and how I never see any model hobby stores around....has this type of interest gone out of vogue and does anyone see it ever comming back? Just wondering what thoughts might be, I know here in Massachusetts it seems like hobbies like this are dead.

Thanks

I think R/C is still alive, but model-building in general is dying out.
Most of the "hobby shops" around are so overpriced...

In these times of extreme paranoia, I wouldn't want my kids to be launching any rockets or anything. Don't know what you can get accused of and that there might be "Secret Evidence which exists but cannot be shown to anyone"
