Are Lite-on Quality Burners?

LITEON produces very nice burners, quality is alright, they are simply cheaper than theit competitors, or could it be the competitors are to expensive

@STSO
sorry, but i have to disagree, especially the LITEON 24X burned everythig so far, SD1 and SD2 included. that was the major reason for me to get one.

Burners=Good
CD-ROMs=Bad

If you're wondering where I get the basis for this, I own a 12x Lite-On, and have never had a problem, and I used to work at a local computer shop, and we'd got too many Lite-on CDROM's back.

Definitely good quality. Have 12x burner and I'll upgrade to 24x as soon as the prices drop a bit more, to $120 range. Damn, that's going to be sweet! I would never imagine that a 24x burner would START OUT at $150 :Q

Base on this REVIEW, I'd say liteon doesn't perform too well in SD1.

Yes, I jumped on the Lite-On bandwagon when I read all the good reviews and postive talk here on the forums, too. I went ahead and got the 16X DVD-ROM drive from New-Egg. I do love the speed, and it seems to be as advertised. But, the thing sounds like it about to take off when it's reading discs. I used to wonder why people made such a big deal about noise, but now I know why. It can be real annoying, because anytime you browse your computer, it will spin up the disc to read it...very loud and annoying. So I wanted to order this 24X burner, but I have more reservations than I once did about Lite-On.
Anyone else having noise issues with Lite-On burners? I'd like to hear from people who own them.

affordable and does it job...i've gotten lite-on burners for the last 5 ppl who i built systems for...no complaints so far.
