Grice, I've never really seen too much negative posted about their build quality, but as the old saying goes, sometimes you get what you pay for. Most of the KDS monitors I've seen are quite low in the specs, but if they meet your purchasing criteria, give it a shot. Just make sure you purchase from a place w/ a good return policy an no restocking fee, that way if you don't like it, you're only out some time and not cash. Hope this helps.

Not sure if your referring to the flat screen or LCDs. Mmy neighbor was short on cash so we went ot Officedepot and picked up a 17 inch monitor for around 130. Agree with other posts, as long as you can return the monitor if your not happy, by it and give it a test run. Otherwise, Bestbuy has a Viewsonic 17 inch flat (a70f) screen for 180.00 Yes its more, but there is a good, known name to go with the monitor.

Good luck!

Using the flat screen Avitron 17 inch and it's been excellent! Not a problem one. However, I purchased the less expensive 17 inch non-flat, whatever that is, and it hasn't done as well. After a few weeks the PS started making a very high pitch whine. Suggest you get one from Office Depot. They have a great return policy. As far as the Avitron, they've been discontinued according to the KDS site.
