Are high voltages ok if temp is cool?

I've got a Winchester A64 3200+ (2.0 ghz stock) on a MSI Neo2 Plat, I've got it up to 2.6 ghz on water, temps are hardly above what they were at stock (44-45 burn no matter what speed) but to get there I upped to 1.6 volts on the CPU to maintain stability...will this high voltage seriously dampen my processor's lifespan even though it's kept at temps that are lower than most people's stock temps? I keep hearing people saying different things, but what's the general consensus here?

I think it will lower the processor's life span, but not by enough to even worry about it. You'll be upgrading well before the processor even begings to approach the end of it's life. I have the 3200 winchester myself on an msi neo2 with pretty good air cooling and I've found I too had to up the voltage to 1.6 to reach 2600 mhz. At that voltage though with air cooling I get around 55 degrees max which is a little too high for me so I run at 1.5 vcore at 2500 mhz and have a max temp of 51. You can be sure though if I had water cooling I would certainly run it at 2600 or maybe a little higher even 🙂

Yeah bytor, that's my point...my current temps at this O/C are no hotter than my stocks, so the main difference is the voltage...and I know I'm lowering the lifespan, but hopefully when kept cool not by much...
