I can tell you that once I'm dead, I really won't give much protest over what happens to me. Use me as a ventriloquist dummy, and I won't resist.
I figure either cremation or else just bury me in a biodegradable coffin. If your body is the only thing that you want to endure after you die, well, that just seems a bit shallow. It's what you
do in your life that should matter, that should endure beyond your death. That's what people will remember.
That said, if people do want a plot in the ground for their dead loved ones, that's for them to decide. If it helps comfort them, or serve as a reminder of those who have passed, so be it.

What kind of creepy person would want to dig up old graves to build a house on the land or something?
Well then you get to know the ghosts who come back. Make them feel welcome, get to know them. They might have spent a lot of the afterlife being bored, what being stuck in limbo and all. Have nice parties on the weekends, and hey, if someone tries to break into your house, you'll have a small militia of ghosts ready to deal with the intruder.
