Are graphic cards coming out faster than ever before?

I spent $79.99 on my 8800GTS 320. I got it a month ago. With the rest of my system it wouldn't have any extra effect on my performance. I max out TF2 entirely (16x 16x very high w/o motion blur & HDR) and maintain 70-160fps. This is a 1680x1050 22" monitor btw.
