are globalwin clips really flimsy?

i was thinking of getting the globalwin fop 32 to use on my amd 1.1 ghz, but i've heard that the clips are really flimsy and a pain in the ass, and snap easily. has anyone had a lot of problems with them? i guess i'd get an alpha or thermaltake as alternatives if the clips are really that bad.

I bought a Global Win VOS-32 and the clip on it sucked to bad because I liked everything else about it. I ended up useing a clip off of a Vantec cooler I had. It worked just fine.

Clip for fop32 is not flimsy. It is very sturdy.

was it just the old clips that were bad? because a majority of the review on globalwin fans mention something about the clips.

the FOP38 has an UNBREAKABLE CLIP, the thing is SO STURDY AND TIGHT, it's kinda freaky to install it, but once installed, you KNOW it ain't budgin' and its giving good amount of contact creating pressure to the CPU

I just got a GlobalWIN FOP32-1 for a P3 flip chip and ASUS slocket. It installed easily and the clips seemed sturdy enough to me. I would actually prefer a more flexible clip to avoid over-pressuring the CPU itself during installation, so I flexed the clip several times with my fingers before installing the HSF's clips using a small needle nose pliers. It's easy to install on a slocket on a workbench, but installing it on a motherboard that is in the case might be another matter. It is probably easier to do the latter with the mobo out of the case.

P.S.
BTW, it keeps my P3 850 running at a conservative overclock of 1000 @ about room temperature @ + .10 volts. Its fan's noise is obscured by the auxiliary 90 mm. case fans I use. The fan cleared my first DIMM slot by about 2 mm. on an AOpen AX6BC BX-type board. I'm very happy with my choice of this cooler.
