That's an interesting question... if "separate but equal" for black/white is unconstitutional, perhaps it is for men/women as well. I hope no women figure this out and sue someone though, I'd hate to have to wait in line to go to the bathroom because they take 5 minutes to piss.

That's what I thought, which is why I hate this whole "unconstitutional" business. Seems like 9 times out of 10, the constitution doesn't even say anything about the matter.

Keep in mind that to be on the safe side, businesses would continue building dual-restrooms to save money on rennovation when the law inevitably changes back at a future, more conservative date. Change the sign instead of changing walls. This means that there would be the same number of available facilities, and as such, no problem with that (except where lines existed before, they would now be half as bad)

Now, keep in mind that our bathrooms are currently NOT seperate but equal, anyway. Men have urinals. Women have couches, TV's, footstools and mood lighting. Or something.

in some jurisdictions, you have to have enough additional female 'stations' to make up for the longer transaction time.

Actually many restaurants are building just one bathroom for both genders, with no way to make it two. It's a growing fad.

No they don't. They typically have longer waits for fewer resources. Stalls take up more room than urinals, so the bathrooms are more inefficient. Add to that that it takes us longer to pee than it does for men. We learn to go before it becomes an emergency so we don't end up in pain.

It's because women won't sit on the seat. They try and squat over it and spray everything.

My wife tells me she doesn't like to go in public restrooms because they are so nasty and she doesn't want to pick up some kind of diseases or crabs or anything. She says that the seats always have pee on them. I told her that they wouldn't if everyone would just sit down!

The thing is, there are double standards on bathrooms. Like somwhere that the women's are always completely full and have a line, if some girl needs to go real bad, she can go to the mens and not a single guy will care. Its not like men would get aroused either, at least not me, they simply don't care.

Where as if a guy tried this? Well use your imagination.

LOTS of restaurants have genderless bathrooms, though it's mostly in the eastern part of USA. I read an article about it in R&I, it's a growing fad. Personally, I don't care, everyone has a seperate area to piss in so it's not like it's any different, you don't actually see anyone doing it.

I don't think women in general will be impressed with genderless public bathrooms, mainly because the bathroom habits of men are so disgusting (pissing all over the floor, seats, etc.) The grafitti in male bathrooms is about 1000 times more obnoxious than what you get in women's bathrooms, as well.
