<< That is pretty solid evidence that people are hardcoded at birth to be attracted to a particular sex. >>

That's one of the dumbest OPINIONS I've ever heard.

I'm seeing kick ass arguments from the born gay side and zilch from the choose to be gay side. Hah, less than zilch. You guys are actually hurting your case!

Why dont you find some solid links in support of your side before your ass is really raped! 😛

You may need some extra lube for this one:
  • New Studies Suggest That Humans May Be Born Homosexual
    By John Balzano '97

"...In a study done at the National Cancer Institute?s Laboratory of Biochemistry out of 40 pairs of homosexual brothers 33 shared a common region on the X chromosome. The men examined shared no common stereotype like being all effeminate or being all macho. The one characteristic the men shared is that they were all gay and all shared a particular genetic sequence on the X chromosome."

<< After he learned the truth he made the descison to be what he was intended to be, what he was born as, a man >>

classy, the article wasn't very descriptive on this subject, but he NEVER had an interest in men. He didn't make a choice to "switch" to liking women when the evidence was finally discovered about the coverup of the botched circumcision.

He knew his entire life that he didn't like men no matter how often a doctor told him that he was supposed to like men.

Get that vasoline ready bay-beeeeeeee, they're going to ram the proof home soon! 😛
  • What if 'the gay gene' exists?

"Until recently, it was a very expensive and time consuming process to identify genes. Some scientists have worked for five or ten years to identify a single gene. Today, that same process, with the new technology invented within the past few years, now only takes a few months. It is estimated that within the next few years that process will be reduced to a few minutes. The new technology and greatly reduced cost of gene identification will open up all sorts of research options that would have been far too expensive in the past.

Until now, most of the research funding had been allocated to those studies attempting to cure diseases that have a genetic link such as cancer. Now that scientist have mapped a large portion of the human genome finding specific genes will be much easier and far less expensive than in the past...

...A number of scientists believe that there is a genetic basis for homosexuality. There have been several studies looking for a genetic link to homosexuality...

...At this time, scientists have yet to identify 'the gay gene' or a combination of genes that determine sexual orientation. Considering the rapid advances in genomic science over the past few years, it is just a matter of time before 'the gay gene' is identified."

Ornery you've got some anal fetish. Were you born with it?

<< Why dont you find some solid links in support of your side before your ass is really raped! >>

That's because it's common knowledge that you choose the person you want to be with, man or woman.

<< Its nasty, its foul, and un-natural. Its flat out disgusting >>

It may be foul and flat out disgusting to you but who's to say it's unnatural? It happens in natural animal populations. Are those animals then unnatural?

Yee-hah ForeverSilky, squeal for me! 😛 Where's the damn links, boy?

LadyJessica, I prefer to call it "abnormal". That is, out of the norm. But so is being left handed. Keeps these deviations in perspective.

Jeez, I'm tired of this thread. It was interesting at first, but now it's being done to death. If you're really that curious, go talk to a gay person. I bet they can answer the question better than a forum full of heterosexuals.

Forever silky, are you sure there isn't something your hiding or supressing? If you truely believe that you can choose the sex of who you are attracted to.. you must draw that knowledge from personal experience. As a hetro i can assure you no amount of convincing would make me attracted to a man. Get some help before you waste your time posting.

I just so happen to be 'wired' in such a way that I am attracted to women.

Since when do humans have the capacity to know such things about themselves? Did you take a blood sample and determine this from your DNA? Or is it just a feeling that tells you this? I get feelings that tell me I want a Double Double from In-N-Out, does that mean they were hardwired into me?

Biology, my ass

The article written by Karla Mantilla makes some damn good points.

I like this quote best:

<< I know someone who believes he was born to have a sexual penchant for wearing lacy silky women's underwear. But, come on, how could that be biological? >>

<< But this is the point. Homosexuals choose to be homosexuals because something about homosexuality appeals to them, they like it, they prefer it to heterosexuality. When this is attributed to biology, any further examination must stop there. Why do some people prefer same sex partnerships over opposite sex partnerships? What seems preferable about it to them? What don't they like about heterosexual relations? That is the rub right there. What if there are reasons that people reject heterosexuality and embrace same sex relations? What reasons would people have to prefer same sex relations over heterosexuality? Calling it biology does not allow us to even ask the questions. >>

Hey guys... ever thought of letting people live their lives the way they want to live them? How about coming to the realization that your personal opinion on the subject means absolutely jack squat to anyone else, especially homosexual people.

Ignorant opinions are a dime a dozen on this board. It's at the same time astounding and disheartening.

I'll say it one last time--regardless of your PERSONAL view on the genesis of gay behavior, EVERYONE on this planet deserves respect for the way want to live their own lives. So long as they're not infringing on your life, liberty, and property then they do what they want. You are deserving of the same respect, unless you're unwilling to reciprocate.

Let's let this thread die of natural causes.
