Are force feedback joysticks that much of an improvement?

I'm debating between getting a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, a Logitech Wingman 3D FF, or going without force feedback at all and getting the MS Sidewinder Precision.

Does FF enhance the gaming experience all that much? Especially for a game like MW4. I would imagine all those missle hits would be interesting to "feel."

Looking for advice...

Not really 1 Gamer so I can not compare with other FF'ds but I like it over the standards when I use it cause of the options, size and lots of buttons ;)

A lot depends on the implementation in the game itself.

I have a Logitech Strike Force 3D and, like the man said, it's also handy having extra buttons to assign functions to.

I`m using a force feedback joypad(Thrustmaster Firestorm dual power) anyway took awhile to get use to it during gaming but once I did it was cool ,it can really help make games enjoyable and further enhance the gamig experience with the effects it gives so the short answer is yes.

:)

Mem, I think you're referring to vibration feedback. The force feedback will actually push the controller in different directions. It's awesome for games like Motocross Madness 2 where landing on the front wheel will push the stick toward you, pulling a wheelie will leave you feeling like you're hanging on to the bars. In flight games the stick will shake all around during gun fire, or when you're getting hit. I driving games the you feel the pull on the wheel or stick when tires go from dirt to tarmack, or when you hit something or something hits you.

Bah... It irritates me that control pads are labled that way. There should have been a better distinction between the two. I remember being a heavy console gamer and getting dissappointed when wheels and such came out that merely vibrated for feedback. Anyway, the feedback gamepads are worth it for me too for certain applications like Tony Hawk 3, or Spiderman. Some people are annoyed by this vibration, and both types can cause problems for people with repetetive stress injuries, and could cause them if you're not careful.

Uhm... Btw Mem, I have one of those controllers too.... I should have known better :)
