So as an example if the high winning bid is $500.00 the high winning bidder will pay $500.00 and $5.00 postal insurance for a total of $505.00 US or if it is something like $4,663.00 it will be rounded down to the nearest hundred and the winning bidder will pay $46.00 US for postal insurance.

😕

If he rounded it up it would be $47. What a n00b.
Wait...it says "rounded down" in the description...Am I missing something?

I hear about so many people selling stupid stuff like mystery boxes and them going for big $$$, but I never considered that the buyers probably aren't paying, and then you're getting screwed with fees.

So really, you're taking a big risk by posting something like this?

What does eBay do if the buyer doesn't pay?
It gets added to your tab and you'll have to pay the fees at the end of the month.

After a certain number of days, you can file Non-paying bidder and get your money back...

As Ebay cares more about sellers than buyers (cuz sellers are where they get their revenue from), non-paying bidders are dealt with pretty harshly. Normally, it takes three offenses to get kicked off of Ebay but depending on the severity of the case (and if the seller pushes it), a bidder can get kicked off for just one NPB.

I blame the demand more than the supply. It's not the auctioner's fault people are idiots, and he can't be blamed for taking money that's there for the taking.

So you think it's likely the buyer will actually pay then?

If so, someone on here needs to try this and post the results. I can't imagine what kind of person in what kind of situation in life would see it fit to give up $5,000 for practically nothing. Must be a sad loney guy with no life or family that makes good money and has nothing to spend it on.

Way too easy money...only so many people can do this before it becomes cliche and no one bids anymore.

I would guess no...however, the high bidder has 269 positive feedbacks and has been a member for five years so I wouldn't be surprised if he/she comes through.

I've always wondered how many transactions are actually completed with all those nutty auctions where the bid price is way higher than common sense would dictate it should be.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO CRAZY....

Why don't I do this and make MONEY? 😛

Koing

Is this seller friggin serious?

IF this envelope sold for tens of thousands of dollars no I would not loose any sleep over it and would welcome contact after the winning bidder received the envelope, good or bad. Feedback is also welcome.

Will it go that high? Who knows... Stranger things have happened.

Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese - $28,000.00
Haunted Ghost Cane - $65,000.00
Forehead Ad - $37,000.00
Mystery Envelope - $??????

What's in it - ?
