You know I looked at them side by side in a store 710T ( Digital ) and the 712N ( Analog ) and with the $htty demo input they had I couldnt tell a big difference, so I bought the 712N.
I ended up seeing a 710T deal online the next day, so I bought it since it was such a good deal. I figured I would keep the one I liked best + sell my other one for close to whatever I paid for it.

Long story short I ran the two side by side on a dual head mirror for about a week( both calibrated with Avia Video Essentials ). I ended up keeping the DVI and paying the $100 premium. It was worth it to me, might not be to other people. Best I can advise is look for yourself, and do your own tesing on actual apps + pictures from the same source if possible. I didn't think the difference would be very big, but the colors were much richer and vibrant on the DVI. That percieved difference to you plus the acutal price difference between the two inputs should help make the call

Edit just to note, the 712N and the 710T use the same panel, the only difference was the DVI vs Analog input ( and the base as well, but not really applicable here )

IMHO, yes, DVI is worth it. I've got a 20" LCD (213T), and it's noticably nicer using DVI. At work, I've got several different LCD's around, and it seems that with the smaller LCD's I don't notice the difference as much as the larger LCD's (19" +)

I've hooked my LCD up to a Radeon 7500 using both cables at once (DVI and analog) and toggled back & forth between them. The difference was noticable, on my old 17.4" Planar anyway.

DVI is worth it, especially at high resolutions and if your video card has crappy 2d quality.

I have seen them as low as $380.

I got mine for $384 from ebuyer.com. It was on sale though, its not that price now. Might want to give it a week & shop around a bit.

Great screen though, and I am not much of a "LCD Guy" either.
