Are Dems making a mistake by wanting impeachment by Dec 2019?

Pelosi should've held a vote on starting the inquiry and gotten Republicans on the record. She's made one stupid decision after another around this process and will continue to make them until, or if, it gets passed to the Senate.

Had she held it right away every republican would have voted against it and then their positions would be locked in and very difficult to change. She can hold the vote whenever she wants but as things get worse for Trump and more layers of corruption are exposed it makes those votes worse and worse for Republicans.

Your idea is terrible. She can have them on the record whenever she wants.

Should be drawing this out Benghazi style.
I still feel Ds are screwing it up. Should be public hearing, they should be beating these turds up and not allowing them to get on stand and say fuck you, fuck you and fuck you.
Start charging these turds with whatever crime can be found

Basically do what Trey Gowdy said.
“Hillary Clinton was in the lead but we set up the special select Benghazi committee...”

Indeed! What is happening now is that the more criminal activity that becomes exposed by congressional inquiry the more apparent the insanity of a party protecting him becomes and the greater the political cost a shifting view of Trump by the public will cost them at the polls. Trump is in the toaster waiting for the Republican Senate to pop the leaver. Their efforts will turn from finding excuses to protect him to why, great man that he is,. he still has to go. Everything he touches dies and you could call having his dick up your ass intimate contact.

Yep. I still think it's very unlikely that Trump will be removed (although I thought it was impossible a month ago and here we are). The point now is to make the vote for Republicans as absolutely disgusting as possible. You want to make sure that everyone sees them voting to acquit a criminal.

Are you sure Trump isn't a bottom?

LoL. She should've got them on the record before they had a chance to change their minds and then bludgeoned them with it during their next election.
The Democrats biggest problem is that Pelosi is the smartest one. The fact that she's Speaker and that there really weren't any even mediocre options tells volumes about just how pathetic the Dems in the House really are. Their ineptitude is a great source of amusement.

The Republicans will have a chance to vote on it when they have the actual articles and every Republican who votes for it is a POSITIVE thing for Democrats, not a negative.

Reading you say dumb things like this while proclaiming yourself smarter than everyone else is a great source of amusement to me though so by all means keep going. 🙂

Considering all Trump has gotten away with because the Reps refuse to do anything about him, do you really think they would think twice about voting with the party line? I don't think any moral high ground will come into it at all...they've proven that many times over already.

When your position is indefensible then obfuscation & attack are the only alternatives.

But why does that matter? Republicans alone aren't enough for him to win.

Republican officials won't do anything about him because they are afraid of losing in a Republican primary. Look what that got them in 2018.

Having someone who's accomplished as little as you have question my intelligence simply has me shaking my head and rolling my eyes. If I was approaching my fortieth birthday and was still hanging a goose egg on the accomplishment scoreboard, I'd be questioning my own intelligence not anyone else's. I'm glad I never had that problem.

I mean that was my point - I find it amusing that you never question your intelligence considering what you write, haha. I'm glad we're on the same page.

Yes it could be but that was my question to FM - it would appear that the advantage conferred by the EC would need to be significantly larger this time around. Like how big are we talking here?
Why does it need to be significantly larger? He squeaked by in a couple of states and that was enough right?

He squeaked by with 46% of the vote in an election where there were significant third party candidates took about 5% of the vote. His approval rating is currently at around 42% and the third party vote for 2020 looks to be much smaller. Assuming an equivalent electoral college advantage to 2016 if Trump suffers an erosion of even ~0.5% he loses and right now he's considerably below that. This means either his electoral college advantage needs to get larger or his approval does.

Again, I'm not saying he will certainly lose or anything like that but I am saying that if the election were held today he would lose, and lose badly. He needs something to improve.

^Fingers crossed you are right! I'll believe it when I see it tbh. Everything pointed to him losing last time, but he managed it. Considering things have become even more polarized since 2016, I'm a bit less optimistic than I was back then.

But then they could say "I would have voted against him if I knew (blah blah blah)". Every other day another putrid layer of corruption is peeled back. Let everything come out and have Rs vote to support it. Then have the R's run on supporting corruption for ten months.

The reality is they would not have voted at all. Their vote would not change the outcome, so they would have just walked out in mass and failed to show for the vote.

Yeh, we should really listen to the gaslighing concerns & advice of the right wing. Screw that. The sooner McConnell receives a writ of impeachment, the better. Next week would be good. There's no point in giving them more time to come up with more bullshit to defend Trump which is obviously what they want. The longer we wait the more likely McConnell will try to slip away claiming it's too close to the election so let the voters decide. Force them to take a stand.

You are assuming that McConnell cares if he looks like a partisan hack or not. He will say it is up to the electorate to decide no matter how long. He waited a year for a SCOTUS nomination. He held numerous federal judicial nominations for 4+ years. He gives no shits because he is all but untouchable in his home state, and that is all that matters.

Hardly. The longer the wait the more the GOP will be able to obfuscate & condition the public with lies. It's better for Dems to ride the wave of revulsion building against Trump & force the GOP to own their boy. I seriously doubt they'll remove Trump so they have to be made to own him.

There is not really a choice here. Trump was conspiring to rig the election and endanger national security. They had to act swiftly.

Once started, can they then drag it out a year on purpose? Doing that could undermine the effort as not being serious.

It just needs to flow on the pace it demands.
Do you have even a shred of evidence or did you get that from Schiff's secret stash?

You choose to call evidence fake news so we have LOTS and LOTS of fake news. So fake that the country is 52% for impeachment and removal and it is growing.

Trump publicly admitted to attempting to get foreign nations to engage in criminal investigations into his political opponents.

That's rigging the election plain and simple.
