Are dead pixels still a big problem with LCD's?

I don't think so much anymore, I bought 200 LCD's for my company a year ago and they are still going strong.

For a long while, whoever the heck was making the displays had some major QC issues that caused a high number of their product to be defective. I forgot the percentage, but it was like 20% of all screens made had dead pixels from the shop floor. Anyhow, since they fixed those issues, the price has come down.

I've had my LCD tv for 3 years....it's only a 13" screen (plenty expensive when I bought it), but it is small enough to mount just about anywhere and the picture is great.

Dead pixels are still a part of LCD technology. They just really aren't that big of an issue as to continually get brought up all the time.

I bought a 20" Dell WS a few months ago that has a broken pixel. The Samsung that preceded it had a broken pixel too.

I don't know about TVs, but for monitors they're still a problem.

Most LCD manufacturing processes have matured enough that dead/stuck pixels are almost non-existant anymore.
