Between the old men, and their Wool Driving Caps, and the punks with their backward ball caps, my generation is the only one who wears no hats at all! If you don't wear a hat to keep your head warm, or the sun out of your eyes, what's the point? Looking 'cool'?

Some of us wear hats, not only to keep the sun out of our eyes, but also off our scalp 😉

Yeah, sunburn's a bitch, especially up there.

So you don't buy clothes that look cool either? Do you wear a white tshirt and stone washed jeans? Burn your face with a lighter, because looks don't matter.

What's with the knit winter hats all the time? There's this kid that works on the production floor that wears winter hat all day long. It's 90 degrees inside the plant????

WTF are stone washed jeans? Something else to look 'cool'? Form follows function for me. Always did, always will. Been driving full size, V8 4drs since high school for that same reason. Why make your friends turn into contortionists to enter and exit the vehicle, not to mention being cramped like sardines once they're in there?

Never spent any appreciable amount of money on clothes, and certainly never 'shopped' for them. My sunglasses are functional, watches are functional, and no jewelry at all. I think all this 'cool fashion' crap is for women!

So you don't want to look good but women have to look good for you?

Stone washed jeans are from the 80s. Indian engineers are fond of them.

Why do you care if others think they're cool? If you want to wear one, just wear it. Screw what others think.

"So you don't want to look good but women have to look good for you?"

I shave, get hair cuts a few times per year, and wear clean clothes. That's enough. I don't really expect much more from women. Just being clean and wholesome suits me fine.

I hear that, Dale. I think that's also what sets my generation apart from the ones before, and after.
Your absolute complacency sets you apart? Please, don't retort with some blabber about how being a "non-conformist" is actaully "conforming".
Let me guess, you miss the good ole days right?
When consumption was unfettered, and America ruled the world right?

Face it, you're a boring family man. A true testiment to the mold in which you were formed from.
Your youth is all but expended and now it's replaced with disdain for change and differing opinions.

You fit right into the middle america. You lack the ability to reason beyond your limited opinion and predetermined lifestyle.
Though, cogs keep the machine running right?
🙂

Like I said, the generation before ours wore, and still wears hats. The generation after is wearing backward ball caps, for whatever lame reason. You guys are the ones trying to 'not conform', and being totally conformist in the process! My parents weren't as consumed by 'looking cool' as you guys, but I still don't get their thing for hats!

Didn't you read the "no retort with non conformist bs" clause!?!?!?!

Your parents were more consumed with being able to scrape the change together they needed to feed the 14 kids they had after coming over on a boat.

I see, the men in my family wear the hats to ward the sun from their cue balls.

So in the same respect, how is a wedding ring functional?

You mean they haven't told you yet???

A wedding ring is not really a piece of jewelry at all... it's a satellite transmitter which allows wives to track their husbands locations at all times... 😉

they ARE functional
