Are Core 2 DUO's still good for light gaming ?

So i have a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L with an E6750 and a Radeon 3850.

I was tempted to just go all new but the $1500+ costs got me thinking about what I have.. and if it's worth putting in the best CPU & GPU I can get for this board.. I dont' want to bother if I won't be able to play the new Bioshock with medium settings... any thoughts? Looks like for CPU I should find some E8xxx.. but I'm clueless on the other bits.

I have a pc with e7300 and a 6870 and it plays games really smoothly. Games played are WoW, SWTOR, diablo 3 mostly.

any more demanding games like BF3
