Are console sports games dead to AT?

madden is awesome, but would prefer to see some competition. Blitz has always been good for pure fun

Cool, well that would be 4 people so far. I think we'd need a minimum of 10 dedicated players to join the league.

I ran the last AT Madden league and we had 23 sign up but the number of people showing up for their weekly games quickly dwindled, unfortunately. People would need to be dedicated and communicate well with the commissioner and league mates.

I'll have it on Xbox this weekend, if anyone wants to play some games. I don't know if I can make it to a league, as my nights can be pretty busy.

Pleasantly surprised by Madden 13 so far, but I've only played a couple of exhibition games. I think I'll start a CCM franchise this weekend.

I have a question for Madden, how do you get players to increase their overall ratings? I played a season and several players had great seasons. I used their XP, but they still didn't move up at all on their overall ratings.

Not sure -- I started a CCM franchise Saturday morning but didn't have time to do much with it.

Oh, and it seriously stinks that they took out offline multiplayer franchises.

Being rusty with Madden and having Fitzpatrick as my QB make for a crappy combination in my passing game.

On the other hand, with Fred Jackson as my RB, my run game is great.

I'm kinda addicted to madden ultimate team.

I bought a few packs though... spent $10 worth of ms points that have been sitting in my account for almost a year.

That's a good idea. I have 1400 or 1500 points that have been sitting in my account for a few years. Maybe I should spend them on packs.

Also, I found a bug in CCM and it appears to be widely known. You cannot globally turn off gameflow in CCM. You have to turn it off on each game. I've heard CCM is bugged and some other settings may not save either, but I don't have a lot of details.

Yeah, that isn't just online CCM either. Offline it does the same thing.

The player career is extremely annoying. Practice is absolutely worthless. I do like having complete play control, but hate playing a 2nd string running back with very little avenues for improvement. NCAA 13 did a much better, albeit more unrealistic, approach to letting you improve. I guess Madden doesn't want you to go from a 79 overall to a 99 overall in a season and a half.

I got the game and started ultimate team, but still am unsure of a few things. In Madden 10 (when this ultimate team thing started) they pretty much forced you to pay real money to get anywhere because the "contract length" was for games played and all of my starting players expired at the same time. I didn't get many points for extra cards so I didn't have enough replacements or contract extension cards. So I pretty much got stuck until I paid for more packs.

Is this improved? Can this mode be enjoyed without any extra money yet?

I thought they released a new downloadable blitz game in January, and it was pretty well reviewed? Being an XBL/PSN game it's not as fleshed out but apparently the game play remained pretty much intact. The only thing they removed was after the whistle tackles.

Not really, especially if you plan on playing online, you'd definitely need to pay for packs. About the only good thing the starter packs are good for, is to play through some of the solo challenges and earn coins that way. You can slowly build up points that way, but still, it's a slow process.

I had 900 something points on my account ( that I didn't plan on spending any time soon), so I grabbed a legend pack and two all-pro packs. That stacked my team, and now it has an 87 overall rating.

But yea, nothing changed on that front, as EA wants you to spend money on it.

Anyone play FIFA 12? Is it any good? Thought about picking it up now that the price has dropped since the new one is coming out in a couple of weeks.

On Madden, how is it these days? I'll admit I'm not that great but may be willing to give it a shot. (360) I haven't played a Madden game in several years by the way. Mainly tinker around with NCAA's Dynasty stuff if I end up buying a football game and even then it's been a few years since I did that.

Guys, for a good solid league, we'd need at least 10 dedicated and committed players (and hopefully more!). I ran the last AT Madden league and the last AT NCAA league, and we dropped to the point where we only had 4 or 5 players playing regularly and it sucked.

If you're interested in a league, PM me and let me know what team you want (I'll take the Colts). I'll post the names and teams in this thread and if we can reach critical mass, I'll start a league.

I buy Madden every year. I woulndt mind being in a league but getting online at a certain time and day would be hard for me.

I thought since I changed the subject of this thread, I'd try to answer league-related questions and this is a good one to answer. The way the league would work would be that we'd all play one game per week in most cases. During the week, it would be up to you and your opponent to schedule a day and time to play the game. As a league, we would not mandate a day and time for you to play; that is entirely up to you and your opponent.

Now, during holiday weeks, we'd allow people more time to play -- maybe 2 weeks at Thanksgiving and 3 weeks at Christmas/New Year. If everyone can play the games at a 1 per week schedule even during the holidays, we'd go ahead and advance but we would not expect it.
