Are color changes supposed to be visible on screen after I change the ICM profile?

I found some ICM profiles to try to correct my colors. I loaded them and the screen shows no visible changes.

Win XP

I even loaded an ICM profile for a completely different monitor to see if that made any visible changes and it didn't

OK, this is an easy fix.

First, install this if you haven't already.

Second, use the applet to associate the correct color profile with your monitor.

Third, run wincolor.exe with the /L switch. The profiles are not loaded until you do this. You should notice a color shift when the profile loads.

Assuming that all works & you're happy with the results you'll want to put a shortcut to wincolor.exe (with the /L switch) in your startup folder so that it loads every time you boot.

I've got my computer set to load the ICM profile for my Samsung 193P, and it's noticeable. It kicks in right after it starts "Loading my settings" after I type in my password at login. I'm using Windows XP btw, didn't do any fixes or anything, just applied an ICM profile in display properties.
