Are caucasian female kidnap victims the only ones that get national coverage?

Just wondering, b/c watching the news, they seem to be the only ones represented.

Just a thought...
 
I seem to recall seeing a (lighter-skinned) Hispanic woman and an Asian woman (almost certainly Filipina) all over the news sometime in the past decade...

It's much more important that you're attractive if you want national attention.
 
Intersting. I never pondered that but it does seem that all the Amber Alerts and such are for causasian girls...at least the vast majority of them.

it does seem like they do get more media exposure...

jon-benet ramsey, elizabeth smart, danielle van dam, stephanie crowe (was big news here in sd), the girl killed a couple weeks ago by couy (sp?), and currently authorities think they recovered the body of sarah lunde.

now quick, someone name a minority female kidnap victim (w/o using search tools) from the past couple of years.

edit: the girls name was jessica lunsford and the alleged kidnapper/killer is john couey
 
What about the black girl that got kidnapped but chewed through her ropes and ran home? That girl sure was a hell of a lot smarter than Elizabeth Smart
 
From what I notice it seems that most of the kidnap-rape-kill situations over the past few years have been most common with white girls.

That is not to say that minorities aren't kidnapped--just that most of those kidnappings appear to be focused on domestic issues ("baby momma drama") as opposed to some sick fvck doing it. One of the parents runs off and takes the kid with them but the child is in no real way of harm. Those sort of kidnappings are given much less priority when they know the child is with a parent.

There are more caucasian females in the U.S. than any other race. So of course there are going to be more rapes/kidnappings of caucasian females than any other race. Therefore, you'll hear about caucasian victims on the news much more often. It's more a matter of statistics than anything else.

That's what I mean. And most of these white men will probably snatch up a white girl and maybe that's why we mostly see these cases in the news.
