Are cards made by ATI OCable? Or only ones like Saphhire?

Title pretty much says it all. Except, one last question, is there a advantage to going genuine ATI card instead of Saphhire? Thank You So Much!!!

So I would have to flash my 9600 NP to OC it at all, compared to a Saphire where I could start OCing right away? If so, then why would anyone even bother going with a ATI card?

No! The Radeon 9600/PRO are OCable out of the box as far as I know. I think all you need is PowerStrip.

Shady, what are you running your 9600 Pro at? I have mine at 500/330 right now.

My BBA Radeon 9600 Pro is currently running with a decent o/c on it right now. I love this card.
I'm using Radclocker to overclock btw.

Do any of you guys have any complaints about the noise on the Radeon 9600 Pro? That is the only thing currently keeping me from getting one over the NP.

The fan on my card is by far the quietest active component in my computer. It can't be heard above my fluid drive Maxtors or my Vantec Stealth fan. Noise is not an issue at all. :)

Thanks Again for the replies! I think I might pick up the 9600 Pro, just a few more questions though:
1) Is only the BBA 9600 Pro quite, or is the Saphire and tyan models quites too?
2) Is it worth the extra 24 dollars to get the BBA instead of Saphire or the extra 15 instead of Tyan?
3) If I should go with a third party, which would you recommend?
4) Do any of you know if newegg.com is good on taking returns on video cards? I am wondering just in case I change my mind for some reason.
Thanks Again To All!

If I was going to get a non retail BBA Radeon I'd try to find a Hercules first off, then Sapphire, then Gigabyte, then Tyan. I don't trust Powercoler or the rest of the KMart brand Radeons. Personally I'd spend the extra to get a BBA Radeon but that's just me and that's what I did.

Sorry but I can't answer about NewEgg's return policy on video cards, I've never bought a video card from them.

WTH is "BBA?" Best Buy-something?

I just bought a Sapphire from Newegg; everyone seems to be having luck with them. Hopefully, I get Samsung memory. *crossing fingers*

Ah, OK, thanks. :)

I didn't see any BBA 9800np cards on Newegg. I have been told the Sapphire is good to go.

I have too. But the last Radeon 9800 NP card I had was a BBA card and it came with Infineon 3.3nsec BGAs on it and they wouldn't overclock for beans. I was unable to flash the card to a Pro as a result. :( Good luck with your card MichaelD.

Thanks. I'm hoping I get lucky. From what I've read, if you get the Infineon memory, you can't flash the bios, but you CAN OC...your experience is obviously different. :(

If you get any flavor of Samsung, then you can flash or OC. Or both, hopefully.

Even stock, it'll kill my Ti4200, so I'll be happy.
