I do see a lot of more hip-hop (sorry, not sure what else to call it) looking guys wearing shorts so long that they might as well be capris.

Mine look like this but grey.

I might wear these if I'm walking on the beach, but otherwise far, far too feminine, imo.

Just wear shorts...better for the beach, and MUCH more manly.

Capris or 3/4s length pants FTW while climbing. The other week I discovered I could just roll up my pants halfway up my lower leg and get enough cooling for where i was while still protecting my knees. I might have looked like an idiot, but I would have been an "idiot" roping up on 5.13's

Not usually. AFAIK it had nothing to do with being gay... but...

My roommate's best friend came out of the closet that year. It was a very traumatic experience for my roomie. I felt terrible for him. His buddy dropped by the room one day (they remained friends, albeit not nearly as close) - and he was wearing a long black skirt and he had suddenly developed a lispy quality to his speech.

Capri pants on guys are big in Germany, but so far most of what I've seen of Europe is decidedly more effeminate than what I'm accustomed to in the states. I suppose, alternatively, Europeans must percieve us as brutish.
