Are Brainbench.com certifications any good?

Are Brainbench certifications worth anything? Are they worth sitting for or putting on your resume?

I have a whole bunch of certs here from them that they sent me just before they started charging for them....so anyone have any idea?

umm. No. Anyone can come up with their own certs.

If it isn't a real cert like MCSE,A+, don't bother. Just goes to show that you can't afford to take the real classes, or aren't capable of passing them.

it depends. for online certs, they are probably the best. it would depend on the employer. it won't hurt to have them on your resume, but if you got a bunch in random areas, that might be a red flag. stick with a few focused on the job you want or are doing.

In general I'd say their pretty much useless and not a concern at all for the vast majority of employer, I wouldnt concern myself with them at all unless an emplyer specifically requested to see a cert from them.

Well, they aren't as soft as Charmin, but they'll do in a pinch.

And yes, I collected a few while they were free.

the brainbench certs are acutally being used by employeers not potential employees

what at i mean is, when you go in for a job interview, and you say you are an MCSE, i know of at least 2 companies who will sityou down in front of a computer and make you take the brain bench cert in regards to NT networking etc...

and if anyone here who has taken a brainbench cert, then you kow that they arnt stupidly easy to pass, they acutally have in most cases quite challenging questions.

If anything, use them to guage yourself in different areas after you have gotten antoher cert, just to re affirm your knowledge in that area, rather than as a resume booster.

sux that they started charging tho...oh well..guess they needed to make money some how...
