XFX has always treated me right and I think they are second only to EVGA for me.

Just updating that yesterday XFX let me know my card was judged as faulty. Still waiting on a technician to contact me.

Like I said the shipping is a small thing to me, It's shipped it's done. It's the fact that I paid for a new card and I'm getting someone elses repaired crap in return that burns me. Later in warranty sure. But this card is 4 days old, none of which it actually got to get used! If I wanted refurbished I could have paid 1/2 as much for that "feature".

I had a 8 day old Scorpion Black go bad on me back in 2007, I called them and told them I wanted a new one, not a refurb, and the nice rep lady made it so that is what I got. So I'm running a new black in this laptop, not a refurb.

where did you purchase the card from? you should be able to take it back to where you bought it and either a) get your money back, as its less then 14days (some retailers have a longer return policy) or b) do an exchange.

if this is not an option for you, then you need to start purchasing items from a diffrent vendor. If you are in the us i would recommend newegg.

Like I said, Tigerdirect would not take it back because it was registered, so it falls under XFX's hands. Newegg does the same thing.

Update #3: received my graphic card today. to my surprise, they sent me another 4890 which i'm happy about since i've been reading a lot of people that send in their 4890s have been getting 5830 as replacements and that would ruin my CF setup. card is working fine so far, will be putting in my other card later. now i'm just waiting on a reply from XFX as to how i can register this card to be under their lifetime warranty.

all in all i am quite satisfied with my RMA experience, although their support could speed up a bit more. if it wasn't for the help here to PM XFXSupport, i don't know how long they would have taken to read my ticket, cause it looked like it was just being overlooked. hope your RMA goes as well as mine did OP.

Well....the new card works, no BSODS, no lockups, ect ect. Firefox now runs. Big problem though. IT SOUNDS LIKE A FRIGGIN LAWNMOWER! The damn fan wobbles and literally sounds like a low volume air compressor. Turn on a game and it sounds like a ricer car. So now I have to contact support. Again. I wonder how long it'll take to get a reply this time...tuesday..wednesday probably. I better not have to pay to ship this one.

And for those wondering what took me so long, I got a new job monday and started it wednesday, the day the new card arrived, and at 14 hours a day I didn't feel like getting pissed off at the computer if it didn't work. I guess that bites me in the ass now, I should have installed it earlier so that for once in fucking two weeks I didn't have to sit on a laptop.

that sucks to hear man. my card is loud too, but so was my 4890 that i sent in. i want to get an after market cooler like the accelero s1 rev2 but it looks like i'll void my warranty if i unscrew the brackets out to remove the stock heat sink since there are stickers on two of the four screws that says "xfx warranty void if damaged" which was weird to see cause xfx was known to let users purchase after market coolers.

Mine isn't just loud, the fan is horrible. It makes the chassis vibrate. It's 3:45PM...still no response.

Finally got everything taken care of. They sent a label to ship it back again. I just finally got the new card back yet again 2 days ago, got it installed and it works fine, with no erroring.

Final Tally:
Took over 1 month
Cost me an extra 26$
Alot of my time hassling support

Over all still very unsatisfied with how all this worked. No urgency with them whatsoever to make my 200$ investment worth anything.
